OBJECTIVES:
Participants will

    • Understand indications for use of ESWT for patient with fibrosis and scar tissue
    • Describe the mechanism of ESWT and how it affects tissue
    • Understand contraindications for ESWT
    • Define PBM: Photo biomodulation
    • Identify four clinical uses of laser treatment
    • Identify three “out of the box” applica0ons for laser treatment
    • Identify properties of water which make aquatic therapies optimal for treatment of lymphedema and lipedema.
    • Compare and contrast strengths and weaknesses of aquatic vs. land-based exercise/therapy for lymphedema and lipedema.
    • Recognize barriers to participating in water-based exercise/therapy.
    • Describe potential strategies for incorporating aquatic therapies into a lymphedema therapy program.
    • Introduce the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) perspective on anatomy and physiology and explore how TCM views Lymphedema, including theory and diagnosis
    • Discuss TCM Modalities for treatment of Lymphedema and explain their role in addressing Lymphedema symptoms and causes.
    • Examine how TCM can complement Western medical practices for lymphedema, providing research-based evidence and practical applications for  therapists.

If you are unable to attend this online workshop that you have paid for, our preference is to offer credit towards a future workshop or seminar valid for one year.  If this is not possible, we will refund the entire amount of payment if a written request is sent more than 14 days prior to the seminar, or if there is a valid medical reason for not being able to participate. If a workshop is cancelled by Lymphedema Seminars for any reason, we will provide a full credit for a future workshop or seminar valid for one year.  Lymphedema Seminars will make every effort to contact attendees in a timely fashion if a course has to be canceled.  If there are any complaints, please send them to us in writing and we will respond within 7 days.
