OBJECTIVES:
Participants will:
- Identify three clinical applications for US imaging
- Identify Hypoechogenicity and hyperechogenicity in an US image
- Identify swelling in an US image
- Identify indications of myofascial treatment for treatment of fibrosis in lymphedema
- Describe different types of positive pressure treatments
- Recognize the value of positive pressure options for patient home use
- Identify four clinical uses of laser treatment
- Identify three “out of the box” applications for laser treatment
- Identify properties of water which make aquatic therapies optimal for treatment of lymphedema and lipedema.
- Compare and contrast strengths and weaknesses of aquatic vs. land-based exercise/therapy for lymphedema and lipedema.
- Recognize barriers to participating in water-based exercise/therapy.
- Describe potential strategies for incorporating aquatic therapies into a lymphedema therapy program.
- Explain the basic principles and mechanisms of Deep Oscillation Therapy and how electrostatic impulses create a deep oscillation effect in tissues
- Identify the therapeutic benefits of DOT in the management of lymphedema and at least three specific benefits, such as reduced swelling, improved circulation, and pain relief
- Assess the suitability of DOT for different stages of lymphedema and evaluate patient history and condition to determine if DOT is an appropriate therapy

If this is not possible, we will refund the entire amount of payment if a written request is sent more than 14 days prior to the seminar, or if there is a valid medical reason for not being able to participate. If a workshop is cancelled by Lymphedema Seminars for any reason, we will provide a full credit for a future workshop or seminar valid for one year. Lymphedema Seminars will make every effort to contact attendees in a timely fashion if a course has to be canceled. If there are any complaints, please send them to us in writing and we will respond within 7 days.
